Dead space remake looks bad11/22/2023 One thing that returns from the original is new game plus, and while Motive declined to share specifics at this time, Berry says, “you'd definitely benefit from going through the USG Ishimura a second time.” Good thrills But Motive seems focused on delivering more terror than before. The original was already so intense with its combat, it’s hard to imagine the remake improving in that regard. “In the remake, you really have to carve away at the meat in the skin and burn it away before you even get to the bone and slice the limb off.” “In our version, it's not just a matter of one or two shots, to lop off a limb like in the original,” he says. MacMillan says the dismemberment this time around will be more realistic and “visceral.” “You really have to carve away at the meat in the skin and burn it away.” Technological advances since the first game will allow Motive to get closer than ever to the original vision of Dead Space. “We've actually simplified it rather than embellished it, to improve the clarity and the readability of it.”īut for other aspects of the game, more is definitely more. You’d have to kind of rotate it to figure out what's the best angle to see where your character is and where you need to go,” MacMillan says. “Looking back at it, there was a little bit of frustration around how to control or how to read it quickly. Among the most notable is a welcome reworking of the frustrating in-game map, which will now be presented in 2D rather than 3D. While the Dead Space remake will be an almost identical recreation of the original, it will also include a variety of improvements. Then kill all the monsters and search around again, then solve a puzzle, etc.As expected, the Dead Space remake comes with a plethora of improvements from the original. I stopped today - no spoilers - at a big puzzle place in Dead Space Remake and can't wait to solve it tomorrow. (Hadn't tried it, in over ten years.) Now that the graphics are top notch and controlling the character works perfectly, in both game(s), they're fabulous and very fun to play. It's just like Crysis 2 Remake I played this week. And it feels like a game worth playing and completing now. Everything is working perfectly - so far - 2+ hours into it. Dead Space Remake is a great game to play now. But Doom 3 and all it's excellence did come to mind! due to the darkness and closed quarters and cool looking tech and being alone then overwhelmed by monsters. It's less fun than the 1st time I played Doom 3, but that is a high bar if ever. The characters in the remake look great which greatly accents the story as a result. And it works fabulously! Character controlling is working perfectly and there's no video lag or stuttering. As a result of preparing a few weeks ago for around 45 minuets with the original in prep for the remake it was easy to play today - jumped right into np. So the original Dead Space wasn't worth playing - ever. I used to give it a second try with each new video card but it was just one of those games that sadly the character control was never going to work like top notch games do. (Hadn't tried it in over ten years.) When first released, I never completed more than 10% of the it or ever because of the terrible lack of character control and the video lag and stutters. Looks like a very good remake.Ī few weeks ago, I played the original Dead Space for about 45 minuets, in preparation for the remake. Over on Metacritic, Dead Space Remake currently has an 89 overall score, just as it does on Open Critic, making it one of the highest-rated releases of the year so far, beating out other big titles like Fire Emblem Engage and Forspoken. Dead Space Remake launches tomorrow, the 27th of January, for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. By most accounts, this is a stellar remake of a cult classic, so if you've been hoping to see Dead Space return, or you never had the chance to play the original game, now seems to be a great time to jump in. Today, roughly 50 pre-release reviews for Dead Space Remake went live, with many praising the game for its graphical overhaul and gameplay tweaks to freshen up the experience. Fortunately, the reviews are now in and it looks like the team at EA Motive has delivered an impressive and faithful retelling. Given EA's checkered history, there was some concern that a ‘modernised' version of the game would bring about unwanted changes, similar to what happened with Dead Space 3. EA surprised us all last year with the announcement of Dead Space Remake.
